Vertebroplasty
When conservative therapy fails (persistent pain) or in the case of pathological fracture, a patient can be treated with the minimally invasive procedure - vertebroplasty. In this procedure bone cement is injected in the affected vertebrae through a thin needle. After its hardening vertebra acquires sufficient strength to support the weight of the body.Usually, a few hours after the surgery, the patient can get up and walk, and after a few days, he/she can be discharged home.
Vertebroplasty is a new and highly effective method to treat osteoporosis, which allows solving many problems in case of early diagnosis.
