Metropolitan Cyril blessed new neurosurgical operating room
January 5, 2009, locum tenens of the patriarchal see, Metropolitan Cyril of Smolensk and Kaliningrad visited City Hospital No. 67 and blessed new neurosurgical operating room.
He was welcomed by the hospital director Dr. Skoda, Dr. Dzukaev, head of the 1st neurosurgical department, and Bishop Mark Egorievskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Department for external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Rector of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khoroshevo. Community assists the hospital for many years: here operates a mercy service created by the parishioners, and on Sundays, the volunteers help with cleaning. The priests of the temple, including the staff of the Department for external church relations, regularly commit Ordinances, provide prayers and counseling for patients. In 2007, the hospital opened a prayer room.
Referring to the present with suited Word, Metropolitan Cyrill explained the meaning of this event. Noting the importance of the staff qualifications and medical equipment, hierarch stressed that not everything depends on them. Metropolitan Cyrill called on everyone to remember that much depend on the assistance supplied by the Lord.
